| Bio: | Feb 2008 I’ve returned to live journal primarily for the queer goodness that I miss living in a country town, even a country town as arty and alternative as Castlemaine. A little about me: I’m an artist and sometime adult ed. art teacher, mainly painting but also sculpture and bookmaking. If yr interested in the kind of work i do, check out my pictures in the link below. In terms of visual influences, I’m in love with the work of Rick Amor, William Robinson, Tim Storrier, Jon Cattapan, Julie Dowling, James Gleeson and Gordon Bennett. Oh, and Juan Davila is a god! Ah Xian is aweome too, as is Chatchai Puipia. Really, there are so many great artists out there! I’m a bit of martial arts nut… I practice Chinese MA mainly, Ba gua zhang (my main focus, been doing that about 6 years now), Xing yi and Taijiquan, Shuai jiao and some Chang Chuan. I love wrestling! :-) I’ve also done a little bit of Muay Thai, Zi ran men and Capoeira in the past, and plan to get stuck into some Takemusu Aikido and Escrima this year. Oh, and I started shooting recurve archery last year too. I used to be a scientist (Immunology, later tissue banking), but had a total breakdown and quit 5 years ago. Science and technology of all disciplines still fascinates me, although I am still subject to anxiety attacks around certain cues such as (potential) chemical exposure. I used to live in WA, but moved to Vic. 11 years ago. After years of living in Melbourne and feeling increasingly stressed, I moved out to the country. I love it out here, it’s awesome. Never thought I’d live away from the coast, but it works for me… such a big night sky! Depending on the various shifts in emphisis between “doing” and “being”, I can be described as androgynous, non-gendered, genderqueer, transgendered etc. I can't be said to have no clue about my place in all this, but certainly the evidence so far does not seem to coalesce around any single point of reference.
